Best Way To Lose Stomach Fat

May 29, 2010

So you have decided to make a change in your life, and get healthy.  You want to lose that excess weight and feel better about yourself.  You want to make a permanent, healthy life style change, and this is the best way to lose stomach fat.

The reason that this is the best way to lose stomach fat is that overall changes will first show up as a loss of fat from your stomach.  This is because not only is it the last place we pack on a lot of weight, it is the first place where a noticeable loss of weight occurs.

While it is possible to tone your stomach, if you don’t look at the big picture of losing weight as a whole, you won’t get far with your goals.  You can tone your stomach, but if it is covered in a layer of fat, there is no way that those muscles will be noticeable.

Your first step on any weight loss journey should be an overview.  What this means is that you should keep track of everything that you eat in the course of a normal day.  Write down all the foods you eat, and at what time you ate that food.  It is a proven fact that people underestimate what they eat on any given day by about 50%.  So while you may think that you only consumed 2,000 calories, it may be closer to the truth that you actually consumed 4,000 calories.

One pound is roughly 3,500 calories, so if you think about it this way, cutting out 250 calories per day will allow you to lose one pound every two weeks.

This is an achievable goal and the more slowly that you lose weight, the more chance you have to keep it off permanently.
